When I hear “afford,” I don’t necessarily think of money. Sure, money is one of the biggest universal measures of exchange, but it’s not the only one.
We also say No because:
We don’t have time.
We don’t have the resources.
We don’t have the needed experience.
And with only 24 hours in a day, it often seems like saying Yes to one thing means cutting back on something else:
Cutting on sleep.
Cutting on family time.
Saying No to things you want for the sake of what you need.
It all starts to look like a reallocation of resources rather than finding more.
We all know that money can be expanded—you can earn more, invest more, create more. We also know that if we gain more experience, we can afford to take on bigger projects.
But when it comes to time, the common advice is to “reallocate” better. Manage your schedule, set priorities, cut distractions.
The truth is, you can’t expand time.​ But you can expand energy.
This is the key to doing more without just working longer hours. When you increase your energy capacity, you double the output of your given hours—without needing more time.
I don’t want to compromise.​ I don’t want to just optimize my schedule and only do the “right” things.
I want to be capable of more.
That’s why I teach energy management—so you can still do the things you need and say Yes to the things you truly want.
