Today, I woke up at 3 AM. Again.

This isn’t just a one-time thing—it’s a pattern. And as someone who has coached hundreds of clients on how to wake up energized (which is often the first thing they need to fix), I know exactly why it’s happening.

The clear indicator of a good night sleep - you wake up energized before your alarm clock.

If you Google "Why do I wake up at 3 AM?" you’ll get generic answers: stress, health problems—go see a doctor. And to be clear, I’m all for regular checkups and addressing health issues early.

But there are also things I know I can handle before a prescription is necessary.

In my case, I know my liver is waking me up. Every organ follows its own circadian rhythm, and when everything is in sync, sleep is smooth. But when something’s off? It shows up in patterns like this.

To be clear, I haven’t self-diagnosed myself at 3 AM, deciding on the spot that my liver needs some TLC. I know it based on everything else my body has been telling me—not just at night, but throughout the day. By now, I understand my body's signals so well that I can catch small imbalances early—long before a doctor would say, "Houston, we’ve got a problem."

I’ve done deep body cleansing, including seven-day fasting, so I know what my body feels like when it’s truly restored. Right now? It’s telling me something’s off.

But because I understand these cycles, I can make lifestyle changes—so that both I and my liver smile :)

The truth is, there are so many little levers in simple lifestyle changes that can completely shift how you feel—not just in the morning, but throughout the day and even after work, when you think you’ve drained yourself to zero.
