A: Felicia, I want you to pause with me here. Would you even be asking this question—“how do I use my energy efficiently?”—if you had unlimited access to it?

If energy was never in short supply, your to-do list would simply get done. You’d have the resources, time, and capacity. No hesitation. That’s exactly the point I take my clients to with my work—building the capacity for energy that feels unlimited.

But I also understand that right now, you might be in a season where your energy is limited. When that’s the case, efficiency means thinking about energy ROI (return on investment).

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Do the things first that give energy back. (A walk, journaling, a nourishing meal, 5 minutes of breathwork.) This creates a surplus you can then use on bigger tasks.
  • Use the Planner. Notice what fuels you and what drains you. That awareness lets you structure your day so you’re not spending your best hours on low-return tasks.
  • Invest in energy-generating habits. Even small rituals—like your morning routine—stack up over time into identity shifts.

Think of it as building energy momentum. One intentional action creates the fuel for the next.
