Back in 2017, I had big goals, ambitious aspirations—but all I could do was hit the couch and fall asleep. Sure, I did the bare minimum to get by, but that was it.
The gap between what I wanted to do, what I was capable of doing, and what I was physically able to do felt impossible to bridge.
That’s when I attended Date With Destiny with Tony Robbins in Florida. I half-expected Tony to stand right in front of me, look me in the eye, and say: “Olena, this is your purpose. Do it!” But well, he didn't - there were 5000 people in the room.
At the time, I thought my problem was that I didn’t know the right thing to pour my energy into. I assumed that if I could just pick the right goal and commit to it for 10,000 hours, I’d master it and everything would fall into place.
But here’s the thing: 1️⃣ I was naturally curious about many things, not just one. The “pick one thing and stick with it” advice didn’t work for me. 2️⃣ I was so drained that making a major life decision felt impossible. How could I choose my life’s purpose when I barely had the energy to function?
Then, on Day 4 of the event, we worked on our values—and something clicked.
One of my top values had always been contributing to others. But I realized I’d been completely ignoring myself. I wanted to be valuable to others, yet I wasn’t valuing my own well-being.
It hit me: when I was sick, I took time off because I had to. I simply couldn’t show up and contribute. And at that moment, I saw the truth:
🚀 If I had no energy, I had nothing to give.
So I made a radical change.
I consciously made “Be healthy and energetic” my #1 value. Everything else—curiosity, presence, love, boldness, growth, and contribution—followed after that. Contribution, the thing I had built my life around, became #7 on my list. I could still contribute, but only after having my tanks full.
Because I finally understood:
🔥 Energy comes first. Everything else follows.
Since 2017, this has been my guiding principle. It’s why my coaching program is called Energy First—because when you invest in your energy, you create the fuel to do what you love without burnout.
A Simple Shift to Try Tomorrow Morning
When you wake up, invest in yourself first. Fill your energy tank before pouring into your work, your business, or other people.
💡 Experiment: Try different things in the morning—movement, breathwork, music, journaling. What makes you feel good? Do that first. Then go on with your day and see what changes.
If you’re ready to build energy that supports your biggest goals, let’s talk. My Energy First coaching program is designed for people exactly like you—driven, ambitious, and tired of running on empty.
Reply and tell me—what’s the first thing you do in the morning? 😊
