I’m currently reading 3 Hours a Day: How Entrepreneurs Can Multiply Their Income by Working Less and Living More by Knolly Williams, and one concept jumped out at me.
Knolly breaks people into four groups when it comes to pursuing their goals. I want to bring these to your attention because, whether you realize it or not, you’re in one of them:
The 4 Groups of People
1️⃣ Those who don’t know what they want.
A vast army of entrepreneurs who have never taken the time to become self-aware. They go with the flow, trying to please everyone—except themselves.
2️⃣ Those who know what they want but are afraid to pursue it.
These people once had (or still have) a dream, but fear keeps them stuck. They talk about “someday,” but someday never comes.
3️⃣ Those who think they know what they want—but really don’t.
They start with confidence, convinced they’re on the right path, only to realize later they’ve been chasing the wrong goal. A big, beautiful ship sailing the wrong seas.
4️⃣ Those who really know what they want and pursue it.
These are the happy ones. To the outside world, they might look like a wild success or a complete mess—because external results vary. But internally? They are full, fulfilled, and completely alive.
And more importantly—what should you do next?
If you’re in Group 1 (not sure what you want):
Set aside an hour or two this weekend. Dig deep. Think of any goal you’ve had, and then 10x it. Now, describe your dream day in full detail.
If you’re in Group 2 (know what you want but afraid to act):
Ask yourself one question: What is truly holding me back?
Get a coach. Two or three sessions could get you moving. Do you really want to waste another few years being afraid of your own dream?
If you’re in Group 3 (pursuing the wrong thing):
Pause. Write down 100 wishes. Yes, 100. You’ll start to see patterns, and it will become obvious what really matters to you. Do this on paper—or try my WishFlow bot.
If you’re in Group 4 (pursuing your true path):
Let’s connect. It doesn’t matter if you look like a success or a wreck right now. Fulfilled people radiate energy, and when we surround ourselves with the right people, that energy multiplies.
How This Relates to Your Energy
Directly.
Your mental energy bucket is affected by which group you’re in.
✔️ Group 4 has the most energy—because they’re aligned.
✔️ Group 3 is full of energy but wasting it (hello, burnout).
✔️ Group 2 blocks energy entirely—because fear is an energy drain.
✔️ Group 1? Running in circles, never really growing.
And remember, to feel truly energized, all four energy buckets need to be full—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. That’s what we do inside the Energy First coaching program.
Where are you today—and where do you want to be? 🚀
